The New Jersey Reptile Show is a family-friendly live animal event created to celebrate the beauty, diversity, and wonder of reptiles and exotic animals while supporting the growing herpetology and exotic pet community within New Jersey.
Founded in 2025, the show was created to give New Jersey’s expanding reptile and exotic pet community a place to come together in a welcoming, well-organized environment built around shared passion and responsible ownership, as opportunities for in-person reptile events within New Jersey have become fewer over time.
As interest in herpetology and exotic animals continued to grow across the state, there was a clear need for an event where enthusiasts, families, and businesses could connect in person, experience these animals up close, and build real relationships within the community.
Behind the New Jersey Reptile Show is a team of reptile and exotic animal enthusiasts and a family with over 80 years of experience in herpetology. It is the same experienced team behind the Saratoga Reptile Show in Saratoga Springs, New York, which has successfully hosted five sold-out events since 2022. That same event staff and leadership bring their proven experience, organization, and passion to the New Jersey Reptile Show, helping ensure a high-quality, community-driven event for attendees, vendors, and families alike.
The goal has always been simple: create an event that feels exciting, welcoming, and trustworthy, where longtime enthusiasts, first-time visitors, families, and kids can come together to share their appreciation for these incredible animals and help grow the reptile and exotic pet community across the Garden State!
The first New Jersey Reptile Show, held in October 2025 at the Post 2179 VFW in Port Monmouth, exceeded expectations and confirmed that need! The event brought together a strong turnout of families, hobbyists, breeders, and vendors, creating an energetic and positive atmosphere centered around appreciation for reptiles and exotic animals. The response from attendees and vendors alike helped shape the vision for future shows and the continued growth for our second event on Sunday, February 8th in Port Monmouth, NJ!
